(2) install Busybox (1.18.4)

To root your Droid Bionic:

Step 1. Set your phone as "Charge Only".

Step 2. Make sure USB Debugging is checked on under Settings->Applications->Development.

Step 3. Connect your phone to your computer via USB Cable.

Step 4. For Windows, you need to install Motorola drivers.

How To Root the HTC Desire??

I. Before You Begin

1. This is the easiest method available to root.

2. This method will also flash a custom recovery image so you can start flashing ROMs immediately.

3. On your computer, go to Start > Control Panel > Programs > and Uninstall HTC Sync if it is installed before you continue.

4. UPDATE (1.18.11) - You must have active service on the phone, an SD card in the phone, and use the latest Unrevoked for your specific device from the download page.

II. Root and Flash a Custom Recovery Image

1. Download the Unrevoked Rooting App

2. Double click the program you downloaded. If using Windows, then click on the file that appears called Hboot Driver and follow it’s instructions to install the modified HBoot drivers OR click here and download the drivers and install them manually.

3. Once the drivers are successfully installed, double click the Reflash program to open it.

4. Once the driver is successfully installed, turn off the phone by taking out the battery and putting it back in. Then push power to turn it on and get it to the normal home screen.

5. On your computer, right click the Reflash file and run as administrator. It should open Unrevoked and say “waiting for device”.

6. On your phone, click Menu > Settings > Applications > Development > and make sure USB Debugging is checked ON.

7. Plug in your phone into your computer via usb cable.

8. It should automatically locate your phone that is plugged in and you can just follow the prompts to continue.

9. Done! You are rooted and have a custom recovery image!

III. (UPDATE 12.09.10)(Optional) Gain S-OFF

1. Download Unrevoked Forever after rooting the phone using Unrevoked above.

2. Plug in your phone via USB cable and mount the sd card so you can transfer files to it.

3. Copy the unrevoked .zip file to the root of your sd card (not in any folders just on the sd card itself).

4. Turn off the phone and boot into recovery mode by holding down Volume Down and Power then selecting Recovery.

5. Click Flash .zip from SD card and choose the Unrevoked Forever .zip file and wait for it to flash. All done, you have S-OFF.

IV. (Optional) Load a Custom ROM

1. Head over to our How To Load a Custom ROM procedure.

Steps to install Gingerbread 2.3 on HTC HD2:

download the AOSP build file MDJ Android 2.3 Gingerbread AOSP Build for your HTC HD2 device and save the same on your desktop.
copy the Android folder into the root of your SD card. You need to copy the data.img file into the Android folder.
Now, you need to run the exe file with the name CLRXAD.exe on your HTC HD2 with the help of file explorer.
After running the exe file you will need to run the HARET.exe on your HTC HD2 device.

So within 10-15 minutes your HTC HD2 will boot up and there you go you can see that your device is now working on the Android’s Gingerbread operating system and not on lame Windows operating system 6.0. So, in just four simple steps to be precise you can easily install Gingerbread on your HTC HD2

What This Means

With a completely stock kernel pulled from a phone that has never been rooted, developers can compile custom kernels that don't use unofficial pieces from international phones, and anybody can restore the stock kernel with Odin. Therefore, there is no risk in rooting your phone anymore.

Since I'm nice and believe in the community being a place to share works and all work towards a common goal, I've taken the time to decompiled the kernel down to the initramfs and upload it for developers on my Github.

How to Flash

If you find yourself wanting to flash the stock EG30 kernel that you can download over at ACS, then you're going to want to become acquainted with Odin.
Once you've come to know (and most likely love) Odin, you can flash the kernel tar by putting it in the PDA slot.
No pit is needed when you are flashing a kernel, and you should always make sure the ONLY thing checked on the left side is auto reboot and NOT repartition.
Once the tar is in PDA and you have double checked that repartition is NOT selected you can go ahead and start the flashing process.
If you've done everything the right way then your phone will boot into the lockscreen and you can go on your way.

I recently got a HP Touchpad bundle and while the Touchpad is pretty darned decent and definitely worth a hundred bucks, what really impressed me was the touchstone charging dock. Its brilliant.

I looked into it and found the the palm pre also had this and some chap on the net had figured out how to shoehorn the unit into an evo.

I did the mod to mine and its amazing. No more charging cables. Yay!

Linux/Ubuntu for android (compatible with cm7)

Hello,

I am going to prensent you today how to install ubuntu on your android device. Some of you propably already tried ,and had problems

making it work (or not). I modified the tutorial to make it easier, and corrected things. I also modified some paths in the scripts so that it can work with

cm7, if you are not a cm7 user you can download the normal scripts too.

I based myself on this tutorial:

So let's start !

First, download the following cm7-ubuntu.rar file (decompress and copy over the whole ubuntu directory to the exeternal SD card of your Android smartphone/tablet:

If you are not on cm7, download cm7-ubuntu.rar, and replace the scripts by these:

1) Make sure your phone is rooted and that busybox installed (if you are on cm7 all is ok).

2) Download Terminal Emulator on the market. Open it and type “su” to enter super user mode, then type “cd /emmc” or "cd /sdcard" if you are not on cm7, and “cd ubuntu” to enter the ubuntu directory in your SD card of your Android device.

3) Next, type “sh ubuntu.sh” to run the script which will basically get your Ubuntu image ready to run on your Android smartphone/tablet.

If you get error messages, don’t worry and keep going.

4) Type “bootubuntu” to enter Ubuntu. (Next time you enter Ubuntu, you just need to type “bootubuntu” from your /emmc/ubuntu directory, no need to run ubuntu.sh again.

If you got “root@localhost” at this point, congratulations! This means your Android OS comes with loop device support and Ubuntu is now running “chrooted” on top of your Android OS!!!

However, if there is an error like : "losetup: /dev/block/loop2: No such file or directory", this propably means that app2sd is conflicting with your sdcard, so to solve that

move all your applications on your internal sdcard and try again. If this doesn't solve your problem, that means that your kernel doesn't support loop

devices in most of the case, try flashing other kernels.

If after that you still have problems post, and I will try to reply when I have time

5) How to Install Programs on your Ubuntu!

Once you’ve got Ubuntu running on your Android device, it’s time to install some Ubuntu packages(or programs).

Type “apt-get update” to update, this is the first thing you will need to do before installing any new programs.

6) How to Install OpenSSH-server on your Android Ubuntu!

Type “apt-get install openssh-server” to install OpenSSH-server. What is OpenSSH-server? If you want to connect to your Android Ubuntu via an IP address (and SSH into it), you will want to do this.

7) How to Install TightVNCServer on your Android Ubuntu!

If you want to access the GUI of your Android Ubuntu, you can install TightVNCServer, which allows you to access the Android Ubuntu via Android VNC app on your Android smartphone/tablet or even access it remotely from your desktop computer.

Type “apt-get install tightvncserver” to install.

8) How to Install LXDE!(optional)

Next, we will install LXDE (Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment). Although we can use Ubuntu’s default GNOME (and trust me I love that), LXDE takes up less memory so our GUI access will be faster.

If you like GNOME, you can skip this step though.

Type “apt-get install lxde”

How to setup xstartup file so that when TightVNCServer is started, the LXDE runs instead of GNOME:

Then press Volume-down&D togethe.

9) How fix language and start vnc at each boot:

LG Revere Review

The good: The LG Revere is a compact and lightweight flip phone with features like a 1.3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, mobile e-mail, and the ability to upload pictures to Facebook. Call quality is very good, and the Revere is very affordable.
The bad: The LG Revere doesn't have the best photo quality, and social networking features are rudimentary at best.
The bottom line: The LG Revere is a no-frills entry-level handset for Verizon Wireless customers who just want to make calls and not much else.
While Verizon Wireless is famous for its smartphones like the HTC ThunderBolt, the Motorola Droid X2, and the CDMA iPhone 4, it still has plenty of customers who would rather have a simple handset. And it doesn't get much simpler than the LG Revere, which is a basic clamshell handset without a lot of frills. It's not completely devoid of features, however, as it does have a 1.3-megapixel camera, mobile e-mail capabilities, GPS, Bluetooth, and the ability to post to several social networks. It's also very affordable at only $49.99 after a two-year agreement if you buy it in stores. You can actually get it for free if you buy it online.
Design
The LG Revere has a traditional clamshell design. At 3.78 inches tall by 1.95 inches wide by 0.72 inch thick, the Revere makes no bones about being an affordable handset with its rather cheap-feeling plastic shell. Still, it has curves and rounded corners that do make it comfortable to hold. Its black-and-gray color scheme is a tad boring, but we're OK with that.

On the front of the phone is a monochrome 0.98-inch external display. It shows the usual date and time information as well as remaining battery life, signal strength, and caller ID. Directly above the display is the camera lens. A 2.5mm headset jack sits on the left spine along with the volume rocker and Micro-USB charging port. On the right is the dedicated camera button.
The Revere flips open easily yet firmly thanks to its sturdy hinge. It seemed as though we could open and close the phone several times without ill effects. The internal display is pretty typical for a basic phone--it measures 2 inches diagonally, and has 262,000-color support and a 176x220-pixel resolution. We're actually quite pleased with how bright and colorful the display is considering the phone's entry-level status. The text and graphics aren't as sharp as we would like, but that's to be expected. You can adjust the banner, the backlight time, the brightness, the wallpaper, the display theme, the menu layout, the type and size of the font, and the internal clock.
Underneath the display is a navigation array that consists of two soft keys, a square toggle with a middle OK key, a dedicated speakerphone key, a Clear/voice command key, and the Send and End/Power keys. The toggle can double as shortcuts to three user-defined applications with the up, left, and down direction buttons. The right direction button brings up a customizable My Shortcuts menu that you can populate with even more shortcuts.
We found both the navigation array and the number keypad beneath it to be quite roomy. The keypad is just a tiny bit flatter than we would like, but it has enough separation between each key that we could still text and dial by feel. Each key is quite big, and when pressed, the keys click satisfyingly into place.
Features
The LG Revere ships with a 1,000-entry phone book, with room in each entry for five numbers, two e-mail addresses, an IM screen name, a street address, and notes. You can customize the contact with a photo for caller ID, and any of 27 different sounds for either a ringtone or a message alert tone. Each contact can also be organized into different caller groups.
Other basic features include a speakerphone, vibrate mode, a calculator, a tip calculator, a calendar, a to-do list, an alarm clock, a stopwatch, a world clock, and a notepad. The Revere also has voice commands, text and multimedia messaging, voice memo recording, GPS with VZ Navigator support, Bluetooth, and Info Search, which searches through the contents of your phone.
If you decide to connect to the Web, the Revere also offers a rudimentary mobile Web browser, mobile instant messaging, and mobile e-mail support. Verizon's Mobile Email application does require a subscription to use, but with it you can easily access all the popular Web e-mail services, including your own POP3 e-mails, as long as you have the server information. It does require a $5 monthly fee if you don't already have a $9.99-or-higher data plan.

The 7.7 is charging on the side/small panel, while the 10.1 is on the bottom. Also, the device is rumored to be packing a Super AMOLED screen. The other day we gave you a sneak peak at the all-new WeatherLive 2.0. The app received a nice little overhaul, adding new features, more customizations and push notifications for weather alerts.
We've been using it all week and appreciate that the app is still as "lite" as before with no loss in speed. In addition, seeing as we're getting some severe weather here in the Northeast, the toast notifications detailing weather alerts have worked every single time (on a Mango device).

Gameloft in the last campaign, were all at the Android HD games for only 99 cents available, I immediately struck me and a couple of good games for my HTC sensational indulgence. One of them was playing Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus, I'm amazed at the graphics really. The mobile games look from game to game from getting better and Gameloft has a very big part. And finally, is the successor of Gameloft in Black Pegasus, and that Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation.

The graphics and gameplay of the third part again to see much better than it really is still the second part of the case. I'm really curious how it all on my HTC sensation is or even look at a Tablet. Gameloft also promises that nation is already falling due this Fall. I'm looking forward, do you?

It has also not escaped the attention of navigation software makers and you now have a choice of apps, free and commercial, which can guide you wherever you need to go with all of the features you expect in a standalone unit included.

As navigation software moves towards a completely free model, Google itself has started the ball rolling by offering Google Maps Navigation for free in America and the UK. But it is not the best solution around, and there are other worthy alternatives to consider if you are willing to pay.

Co-Pilot Live is one of the premier navigation apps on the iPhone and Windows Mobile platforms and has now graced Android at the same budget price level. The UK and Ireland version is just £26.99 and you can pay extra to receive live traffic and fuel price information. The feature set is comparable to standalone GPS systems and even if you go for the full set including the live services it still works out cheaper than most of the competition. The software lends itself well to large touch screened devices and in our tests Co-Pilot performed admirably on the Nexus One, HTC Hero and HTC Magic so it gets a big thumbs up from us.

With Android being open source it is natural to expect the same type of development on the GPS side and AndNav2 (above) is one such example. It is, however, not easy to use for the average user, but people who require specialised mapping for specific areas may find the time worthwhile to create TilePacks for the app. On the subject of free, we can’t forget the excellent Google Maps which is either bundled with the Android device itself or available as a free download and now offers full turn-by-turn navigation with voice in the UK and US.

Sygic is one of the lesser known navigation software developers, but for 49 Euros you can pick up Mobile Maps which includes real-time traffic, safety camera warnings and full mapping for the UK and Ireland. The interface is clean and the system works well in general use. It is also surprising to see so many other features included such as lane guidance and as such the whole package builds into a solution which is very good value for

Telenav produces a solution which is ideal for the occasional traveller. It works on a subscription basis and at £5 / month could be useful if you only need GPS navigation at certain times during the year. The main mapping interface is simplistic and does not give an indication of what is beneath the rather plain surface. There are some expected features, but it’s fair to say that this is not a solution for the individual wanting all of the latest GPS gimmicks. Ultimately though it does work quite well and is memory efficient so it definitely has a place in the ever growing Android navigation market.

avigation can of course take many forms and BreadCrumbz exemplifies the possibilities of the Android platform. It allows you to create your own routes using photographs for each step. You can add commentary to each step and it even works within buildings such as museums. The possibilities are endless for companies to use an app like this to create virtual tour guides and when used in conjunction with GPS it can make any experience much more pleasurable and informative. It is also free which makes it one you simply have to try.

GPS on Android is not just about software either. Garmin Asus has come up with the nuvifone A50 which is an Android powered smartphone with navigation promoted as its main feature. Not only do you get a 3.0 Megapixel camera that can geo-tag each picture, but a car kit is included alongside a 3.5” screen to make the navigation experience as complete as possible out of the box. Garmin has a long history in the navigation world and is well placed to create a device that feels and acts like a standalone system, and with the help of Asus, a smartphone that does all of the other clever things you expect in 2010.

As you can see, the navigation options available on the Android platform are already plentiful and in some cases priced very competitively or even free. With an emphasis on large touch screen design and powerful hardware features the smartphones running Android are well placed to make mobile navigation as easy to use as it is on standalone GPS units. With the operating system constantly being upgraded and the promise of Google Navigation being available worldwide, Android could soon become the platform of choice for mobile navigation.

Veteran games publisher SEGA has proven time and again that it's not afraid of dusting off an old classic for a re-release on modern systems. The latest to join that list is Sonic CD, with the recent news that SEGA will port the game on Android, iOS and other platforms in time for the holiday season.

Sonic CD was originally released on the SEGA CD back in 1993, but has traditionally been left out of SEGA compilations up until now. The game sees the company's spiky mascot travelling through time to correct the evil meddlings of Dr Eggman, saving all manner of furry critters along the way.

Also, SEGA says the re-release of Sonic CD will include the original Japanese soundtrack. For those of you wondering what that means... well, it means this.

The titan of all time, the HD2 still has a lot of mileage left under its 4.3 inch hood. Even in its native Windows Mobile 6.5, people seem to still be going rather hard at it in terms of development. In this new development, XDA member Cotulla from the DFT team brings us another jaw dropping development on this wonderful device. It seems that after a long time, mainly due to him putting this project off to make room for things like Windows Phone 7 and several other projects that he has worked on over the last year and a half. Enabling USB host functionality will allow your device to recognize USB devices that you would normally use on your computer such as mice, external keyboards, and most importantly, memory (thumb drives, external hard drives, etc). If you were itching to have more storage on your HD2 but do not feel like shelling out US$50 for a 32 GB microSD card, now is your chance to get more storage for a lot less money.
As good as this may sound, it still has its limitations though. Cotulla states that for the time being, it only has HID and MassStorage profiles and that it is also a proof of concept. In any case, this is a great piece of news for those of you in possession of an HD2 and who are still sticking to good old Windows Mobile. Please leave some feedback for the dev if you have a chance to test this.

After all this Touchpad madness and some other hot news, I got back to writing and been reading that a lot of members would want to go back to older Market application; XDA member Omnichron show us a way to revert back to older version by replacing some files on your Android device´s directory. HTC Omega press shots revealed

Press shots have been leaked of an upcoming Windows phone 7 mango device created by HTC, codenamed Omega. This device will probably be announced at HTC’s september event. The Omega is pretty slick looking with its white and silver color combination and possible aluminum build. This device may be called the HTC Radar when it is officially announced.

The specs for this bad boy are unfortunately only rumors at this point:
1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 SoC processor,

a front-facing camera,

How unlocked is HTC's bootloader unlocking method?

It looks like HTC's unlocked bootloader policy may not be just what everyone was looking for, and several key portions of the firmware remain locked. What appears to be the case, is that using HTC's tool does unlock your bootloader, but doesn't grant you S-off status. Right off the bat -- if you don't understand what S-off means, you don't need it. It unlocks the ability to flash things like radios and hboot versions, which are all closed and protected files from HTC and the carriers.

What HTC's method does give you is the ability to flash a modified version of a custom recovery, which can be used to flash the files needed to root the phone. Once rooted, you can run root-required apps and have read/write permissions on the system files. As it stands now, if this is all you ever wanted to do anyway, HTC's tool will work for you. If you think you might one day decide to get a little deeper, I suggest you wait it out for a while. Will methods to flash ROMs get figured out for phones unlocked with HTC's tool? Probably. There's also a chance the boot partition is able to be flashed. The one thing we all know for sure is that HTC has made it very hard to go back if you go through with updating and using their unlock tool. Waiting to see how this all plays out is probably the wise decision.

There are also Internet rumors flying around saying HTC will send another update to give the phones S-Off status, or that this is just step one and they will release updated tools to do it. At this point, all that is just speculation. Personally, I'll wait and see exactly what works and what doesn't before I decide to buy another HTC phone. If all they have done is block access to carrier-protected files and still allow the flashing of a new system, data, and boot partitions, I can accept that position. If they have blocked the flashing of new kernels or the boot partition as a whole, that's another matter. With all the development going on for the Sensation and EVO 3D, we'll know soon enough.

The Motorola Droid 3 has been rooted, and while we expect root to happen for most Android phones, there are a couple things here that we want to talk about. To start at the beginning, the goal of any project to exploit or root an Android phone is to get the permissions you want, where you want them. Once you have administrative permissions on a folder you can also write to, you're pretty much set. Security researcher Dan Rosenberg found a fairly easy method to do just that, and we now have a shell root via ADB with no third-party files being used. This means no worries about sketchy files that have been through numerous hands, doing lord knows what when you run them.

To make things even better, Dan has outlined exactly what he did, why he did it, and how you can do it as well. When you read it, it seems so simple, but it's apparent that a lot of research went into this and it's refreshing to see the method presented in such an open way. Yes, this means that the carriers can patch it quickly, but for the vast majority of users that won't be rooting their phone this is a good thing. Dan, we tip our hat to you and there's a standing offer of a frosty beverage or three should you even run across any of us here at AC.

Now, for the method -- you'll need to have ADB running, and be confident in your ability to run a few commands from the command line or terminal. And be aware that this is the first step only, and you'll only have root via the shell. Next, someone will need to build a few files to inject so that you have root on the device itself, and I'm sure at least a few are hard at it. You can (and should) check out the source link for the full directions, as well as the rhyme and reason behind the method.

Sometimes, your Android phone is the best (or only) way to get your computer on the Internet. Since version 2.2, native tethering has been built into Android, and as long as the folks that made your phone or your carrier haven't removed it, it's a great way to get online. And it's easy, too!

Open the settings by tapping the menu button, then choosing Settings, Wireless & networks, then Tethering & portable hotspot. You'll see what's in the picture above, and have two choices here -- do it over a wire or turn your phone into a wireless hotspot. Just choosing "Portable Wi-Fi hotspot" will probably get you right up and running, but you'll be using an open and unsecured network. You can change the security method in "Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings" to WPA2 PSK (a fancy way of saying you'll need a password to use my phone for Internet), and you really should. You can also change the network name if AndroidAP just doesn't do it for you. On a computer, you connect just like you would any other Wifi router.

f you plug your phone's USB connection into your computer, you'll also have the option to use it as a USB modem. This is even easier than using the hotspot feature, provided you have installed the drivers for your phone (see the forums for help with that). Just check the box, and your computer will configure itself to use your phone as a network device. I've tested this extensively on both Windows 7 and Linux, and often use it when I'm sitting somewhere out of range of my own wireless router. The bonus of using a USB connection is that it won't drain your battery -- it's plugged in!

Now we have to mention two things here -- these instructions stand for stock Android. Your phone may have things laid out a little differently for the USB modem settings, and may not even have these settings at all. And there's the fact that your carrier will likely want to charge you for tethering. We're not going to debate that issue, but we do want to advise you to check with your cell provider about any fees or restrictions before you try this one.

One of the best perks of having an Android phone is Google Maps and free turn by turn navigation for Android. A part of Google Maps that we often forget about is the Labs section. In Google's own words "Labs is a testing ground for experimental features that aren't quite ready for primetime. They may change, break or disappear at any time." They are also pretty darn cool, offering things like a map scale bar to estimate distance, or a measuring tool to actually measure it, and of course the pre-caching of an area we've talked about before.

Enabling any of these is easy. Open the Maps application on your phone, hit the menu button, then tap "More." Choose "Labs" from the top of the list. Tap on any of the Labs features to toggle it on and off.

There are less than a ton of details surrounding this latest round of images, which, according to BGR, show AT&T’s Samsung Impulse 4G. Apparently this will be the carriers first LTE smartphone, and it also appears to be a lower-end, entry-level model, although we have no details on potential specs, pricing, or release date. Sony’s Android Tablet S launching in September

Like every other company on the block, Sony is ready to get into the tablet game. The Sony S1 was announced earlier this year, but a new report from Engadget says the tablet will now be dubbed the Tablet S. The Tablet S will be rocking a 9.4-inch touchscreen and Android, and will hit stores sometime in the first two weeks of September.

At launch, the Tablet S will be shipping with Android 3.1, but will be upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich when it becomes available later this fall. Some other things to note about the device are a 5-megapixel shooter and 3-megapixel front-facing camera. The price of the Tablet S is rumored to be $599, but that’s not confirmed yet. As for the S2, the S1′s successor, we’re not quite sure of it’s availability or if it will follow the same naming scheme.

Gingerbread Update For Droid Incredible is now Available

Those that own the HTC Droid Incredible have been faced with quite a wait to get updated to Android 2.3 Gingerbread, something that was due to happen back at the beginning of the month but for some reason the Gingerbread update was pulled. However the word is the official Gingerbread build is now available online.

According to the guys over at Android Police, they have been given an exclusive leak of the official Gingerbread update for the HTC Droid Incredible courtesy of an unnamed tipster and have posted a link on their website so users can grab the Gingerbread goodness.

So other than the usual, here’s what the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update delivers to the HTC Droid Incredible…VZ navigator will now work over WiFi, the ability to send Vcard via SMS, MMS Messages now sent correctly, the ability to successfully play audio files from a message, Bluetooth Internet connection now enabled, tapping the forward button in the Music Widget will now change songs, and camera functions successfully without inserting the SD card.

Apparently the tipster has also updated the info saying that the file should be named PB31IMG.zip rather than PB32IMG.zip however the instructions have been altered to reflect the change.

Of course it goes without saying, although this is an official Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the HTC Droid Incredible should you download and install the update on your device you do so at your own risk and no one else can be held responsible if things should go wrong.

Furthermore this is a full RUU, which means it will fully wipe your Droid Incredible including all applications and any root you may have

Apple is Shooting Next iPhone 5 Ads???

At the end of May, rumor had it that Cupertino was looking for actors for an ad campaign starring the next-generation iPhone. On the same note, Apple has reportedly begun production of ad spots for a national advertising campaign around the next phone.

According to sources familiar with the matter, Apple is shooting the TV ads in Los Angeles, together with the ad agency TBWAChiatDay behind other Apple ads. According to another source cited by Appleinsider, the wrap up of the ads is projected around the first week of October. We've already heard October launch rumors and we've also heard people talking about a September launch with an October availability. Whether these rumors will turn out to be spot on or just, rumors, we'll find out in around a month's time.

When half of Apple’s original iPhone team left for Palm to make the webOS, maybe you went with them? Or maybe you’re a loyalist who stuck with Palm from Treo to Pre or Centro to Pixi or Veer and never even considered an iPhone until now? No worries. You’ll feel right at home. Mostly.
The biggest similarity between iOS and webOS is that they both share a sense of design — of taste and elegance, of great user interface and experience. webOS certainly handles many things better, including the brilliant Card and Stack metaphors, but overall iOS is clean, consistent, and arguably has the best fit and finish in the business.
But taste only matters if you can get your stuff done.
Moving over contacts, calendars, and email
Hopefully if you’re using something called webOS your personal info is all store up in the cloud. If so, you should have no trouble getting it onto your iPhone. Just like the pioneering Pre, iOS 4 can handle multiple ActiveSync accounts, including Exchange proper as well as Google Sync’s implementation for Gmail. Just tap the Settings icon on the Home Screen, tap Mail, Contacts, and Calendars, choose Exchange, and enter your credentials.
If ActiveSync isn’t to your fancy, you can tap Other and set up pretty much any POP3 or IMAP account you have in your collection, and MobileMe, Yahoo!, AOL, Hotmail, and anything else you can think of.
You can also load up any webmail account you like in the Safari web browser, including gmail.com, if that’s how you want to roll.
And you can access all of it in iOS 4′s unified inbox and threaded email client.
What about Synergy and Cards?
There’s nothing as stupendous as Synergy built into iOS — yet. Though the previously mentioned Exchange, Google, and MobileMe contacts, calendars, and email can live together in quasi-synergistic fashion, they’re still all masters of their own separate domains. If you install the Facebook app [iTunes link] you can get some contact sync going on there as well (as can LinkedIn and other social apps). Other apps, like Orbit [iTunes link] can pull together your Facebook, Twitter, SMS, email, etc. contacts and let you assign different “volumes” to them so you can manage the level of interruption.
iOS has a highly abstracted version of multitasking that, for mainstream users, would be indistinguishable from the real thing were it not for the great battery life and overall snappiness. Rather than Cards, you double click the Home button and the fast app switcher UI appears so you can quickly get to other apps (which can now save state so you go back to where you left them). But hey, if you find yourself missing Cards, just launch the Safari browser and hit the icon for Page view. It’s visually almost identical, though it lacks the ability to flick a page away to remove it.
And yes, since iOS 4, navigation, VoIP, and streaming music Pandora or Slacker-style can all multitask away blissfully in the background.
Finding other apps (and games)
HP webOS is the most developer friendly platform in the business bar none. They make Google seem closed and stodgy by comparison. But what Apple lacks in free-as-in-speech open App Store gates, they make up for in sheer tonnage of free-as-in-beer App Store goodness. And often at dollar store prices. Sure, there’s a lot of CrApps in with those apps, but with hundreds of thousands and growing there’s also a huge amount of incredibly good, incredibly native, apps and games.
As Steve Jobs himself will tell you, Apple also supports HTML5 as a second, completely open platform. And they support it better than any other platform — you can even add them as icons to the iOS Home Screen so they’re full on first class citizens, complete with no browser chrome and offline cashing. If you can’t find something in the App Store, chances are you can find it as a web app for the iPhone.

Root meet Jailbreak
There’s no manufacturer supported rooting on iPhone, and no ultra-cool Konami code to enter developer mode, and no encouraged patching of any kind. (Apple says “stop it” and would give the EFF noogies if they could.)
If you want to get into the root jail of your iPhone, you need to break it — hence, Jailbreak. If you want to side load apps outside the App Store, you need to use the Jailbreak app store, Cydia. Now, if you don’t understand what any of this means, just skip along to the next section, we’ll be there waiting. No. More. Keyboard.
You won’t be able to shave or cut cheese with the iPhone keyboard — because it’s virtual. If you believe the urban legend, former Palm CEO, Jon Rubenstein, back when he was still a VP at Apple, vigorously disagreed with Steve Jobs about the iPhone not having a physical keyboard. Hence, the Pre and Veer both have physical keyboards.
And that’s okay. Just not on the iPhone. Apple likes their keys virtual so they go away when you don’t need them (without creaking, oreo’ing, popping batteries, or coming to the rescue when virtual keyboards just won’t do). On the plus side, if you’re multilingual or international, the iPhone keyboard can easily be switched to any alphabet, script, stroke, or pictographic symbol you want to use. It can also become optimized for numbers, games, or pretty much anything you (technically, a developer) can think of.
Best of all, if you really miss your physical keyboard,you can tether up a Bluetooth one and knock email — and yourself — out.
Welcome back, iTunes
Remember back when Palm was trying and ultimately failing to hack the Pre into iTunes? Us neither. Anyway, with iPhone, you’re a first (and only) class citizen with full keys to Apple’s media kingdom. Enjoy.
Oh, hi iCloud
You may have dismissed iOS before because of the iTunes tether. Come October, Apple’s cutting the cord to iTunes.
Now you’ll still be able to tether up for re-charging, or syncing giant movie files, but you don’t have to. Everything, from activation to backup, storing files to push them out, will happen transparently with [http://www.tipb.com/tag/icloud/].
If that’s not enough, you can find apps that let you access your Google Docs, DropBox, Box.net, and other online storage. You can even convert and stream content on the fly with apps like Air Video [iTunes].
Combine that with the built in AirPlay and an Apple TV and you won’t believe what you can do…
Notification Center
webOS rules the roost with their elegant, non-interuptive, notification system. Compared to that utopia, iOS 4 notifications are some bizarre UI hell we’ll likely be immolating in until the next major OS update.
But iOS 5 is on it’s way, and its bringing with it Notification Center which should ease your transition a lot. (Hey, Apple stole the guy who invented webOS notifications to work on it!) If you’re switching today, you’ll have a few weeks of pain, but then things will get better.

First go to HTCDev.com And register
Step 1

Turn off you device and wait for complete shut down then Remove and reinsert the battery

Step 2

Press Volume Down and Power to start the device into Bootloader mode.

Step 3

Use the Volume buttons to select up or down. Highlight Fastboot and press the Power button.

Step 4

Connect the device to the computer via a usb cable

Step 5

On your computer, unzip the Android SDK zip file. Create a new folder (For Example: C:Android) and put the following 3 files in this new folder:

adb.exe
AdbWinApi.dll
fastboot.exe

To find these files:

Run the “SDK Manager.exe” which save in android-sdk-windows
Wait about 3 minutes. You will see there are many packages you can update. Please install Android SDK Platform Tools and Android SDK Tools (Please update it if your SDK version is r11).
After you have installed this, you will be able to find the files in the following locations
To find adb.exe, AdbWinApi.dll, look in android-sdk-windowsplatform-tools
To find fastboot.exe look in android-sdk-windowstools

Step 6

Open up command prompt. ( Start > Run > Type CMD) and navigate to the folder you’ve just created. Type in fastboot oem get_identifier_token. in the command prompt.

You will see a long block of text. Copy and paste this text into the token field textbox at the HTC Developer portal.

In the command prompt: Right Click > Mark > highlight the block of text > Right click to copy.

Step 8

After pasting the string of text into the token field, hit Submit in order to receive your unlock code binary file. You will receive this information in your email.

Now you will be taken to the Process Unlock Key page. From here onwards, follow the onscreen instructions closely to get your bootloader unlocked.
